On 7–8 August 2025, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Operations Center Division (OpCen) and Davao International Airport jointly hosted a coordination conference focused on strengthening cooperation and coordination between CAAP and partner airport agencies.

The two-day event gathered CAAP OpCen officers and airport technical, operations, and administrative personnel to review existing coordination practices, identify strengths and gaps, and design strategies to foster closer inter-agency collaboration. These efforts aim to further enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and the overall performance of CAAP facilities.

The CAAP Operations Center Division (OpCen) is a technical facility through which the CAAP Director General (DG) exercises 24/7 centralized command over all CAAP operations facilities. Staffed by skilled technical personnel, OpCen acts as the DG’s sensors and actuators, transforming raw operational data into actionable information for critical decision-making. It serves as the Authority’s alerting, monitoring, and coordination hub for real-time responses and reporting of incidents and emergencies and other operational activities.
In line with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Marcos administration’s vision of connecting, empowering, and equipping the Philippines for a more connected transport sector that will be recognized around the world, CAAP’s coordination conference reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to seamless communication, unified response, and stronger partnerships in ensuring safe, efficient, and resilient air transport operations.
