Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon led the inspection of Davao International Airport’s (DIA) passenger terminal building (PTB) expansion project today, 24 July 2025. Joining the Secretary in the inspection are CAAP’s Deputy Director General for Administration Atty. Danjun Lucas and DIA Airport Manager/CAAP Area 11 Acting Area Manager Rex Obcena.

The P650 million development project will expand the PTB’s floor area from 17,500 sqm to 25,910 sqm (or a 48% increase) by the time of its expected completion in December 2026.
Through the expansion, the PTB will be able to cater to and seat an additional 700 passengers, compared to a previous seating capacity of 1,500. Additional spaces for concessionaires will also be added, with the project projected to generate an estimated 4,000 jobs for the city.
In line with the Marcos administration’s vision of creating real change that enables Filipinos to build better lives, DOTr and CAAP launched the project with the belief that it will contribute to the socio-economic growth of not just Davao City, but also the rest of Mindanao.
