The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) welcomed 24 new graduates of the Basic Airfield Lighting and Power Technician (BALPT) Course batch “Sandiwa” on 23 April 2026 at the Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC) in Pasay City.

Air Navigation Service Chief Gary Jadie delivered the congratulatory message on behalf of CAAP Director General Lt Gen Raul L Del Rosario AFP (Ret), congratulating the graduates and recognizing them as one of the ‘silent guardians’ of the skies. He urged them to continue learning, serving with integrity, and embracing their responsibility to uphold aviation safety for every Filipino.

The BALPT Course is a four-month specialized training program conducted by CAAP through CATC that develops technical personnel responsible for maintaining and operating airfield lighting and power systems, equipping them with the skills to ensure runway lighting reliability and continuous power supply critical to safe airport operations.

Alongside the CATS and CNSSO Courses, the BALPT Course is part of CATC’s core training programs aligned with ICAO’s Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) initiative, through which CAAP continues to build a skilled, future-ready workforce to sustain safe and reliable Philippine civil aviation.

Congratulations, graduates! 🎓
