The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) held a two-day Anti-Trafficking in Person Orientation last December 4 to 5, 2025 at the Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC) in Pasay City.
In line with the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children, the activity aimed to empower CAAP’s role in keeping airports safe by helping personnel understand how trafficking happens, what warning signs to look for, and how to respond and intercept properly when a case reaches frontlines.

The sessions helped ensure that CAAP is prepared, alert, and confident in handling situations where an individual’s safety or freedom may be at risk.
As a gateway to many parts of the country, airports have a unique role in stopping trafficking before victims are moved further.

The orientation was attended by CAAP GAD Focal Point System Vice Chairperson MGen Ricardo C Banayat AFP (Ret) and Head of the CAAP GAD Planning and Enabling Mechanism Committee (PEMC) Ms. Maria Edda M. Lamarca.

The session was led by resource speaker Atty. Jinky P. Dedumo, Senior Assistant State Prosecutor and Head of the NAIA Task Force Against Trafficking under the Department of Justice – Interagency Council Against Trafficking (DOJ-IACAT).
