The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), through its Gender and Development Focal Point System (GADFPS), conducted a Gender Sensitivity Training on December 16-17, 2025 at the Civil Aviation Training Center in Pasay City.

The two-day training aimed to deepen employees’ understanding of Gender and Development (GAD), including its evolution, legal foundations, and CAAP’s role in promoting gender equality across the organization and the aviation sector.

It emphasized addressing workplace disparities, advocating equal rights, opportunities, and an inclusive, respectful, and safe environment within CAAP offices and facilities.

“This training is anchored on a simple but powerful truth: gender sensitivity is not about giving special treatment to one group over another. Rather, it is about understanding existing gender relations, recognizing the barriers that limit full participation, particularly of women, and consciously addressing these barriers through inclusive content, responsive policies, and participatory approaches that value the voices of all genders,” said MGen Ricardo C Banayat AFP (Ret), Vice Chairperson of the CAAP GADFPS.

The activity was attended by GAD Focal Point System members from the Central Office and various Area Centers.
