The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) welcomed the first Monday of 2026 through its Flag Raising Ceremony and Courtesy Call, led by Director General LTGEN Raul L Del Rosario AFP (Ret), on 5 January 2026 at the CAAP Central Office in Pasay City.

The event brought together CAAP employees, including the Authority’s area managers and service and department heads.

During the flag raising ceremony, service recognition awards were conferred to retiring Civil Aviation Area Managers of Area Centers 1 and 7, Ronald Estabillo and Atty. Rafael A. Tatlonghari, respectively.

In Atty. Tatlonghari’s speech, he recalled his 35 long years of being a faithful servant of CAAP, who, beginning as an air traffic controller, is now retiring as a Civil Aviation Area Manager. “Today, I am officially signing off. I am hanging up the headset and handing over the keys,” he quipped.

DG Del Rosario, meanwhile, concluded the ceremony with a message expressing his gratitude to all CAAP employees for their hard work and effort in the successful events from December 2025, including the Authority’s holiday activities. Reminiscing on the challenges of the past year, the DG looks forward with positivity to 2026 as CAAP further develops its identity as an agency and aligns its values to establish a unified purpose and fulfill its long-term objectives for the betterment of the country’s civil aviation sector.

Encouraging the CAAP community to continue delivering its best in the new year, DG Del Rosario said, “Itodo na natin ang ating efforts for 2026!”

As the country ushers the new year in, CAAP promises to keep going and persevere in keeping the Philippine sky safe.
