Following the first batch held in May, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) opened the second batch of the Airport Security Program (ASP) Writing Workshop from November 17 to 21, 2025 at the Savoy Hotel in Pasay City.

Joined by around 30 participants, the workshop aims to cascade the key provisions of the National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) 2024 Edition across all CAAP-managed airports.

In his opening message, CAAP Security and Intelligence Service Assistant Director General MGen Ricardo C Banayat AFP (Ret) emphasized that the ASP serves as the operational embodiment of ICAO Annex 17 requirements, aligned with the NCASP to ensure systematic, coordinated, and responsive security measures against evolving threats.

He also reminded participants of their daily mission to protect passengers, secure airport operations, and uphold the integrity of civil aviation security.

The workshop supports the effective implementation of a robust, compliant security framework that strengthens capacity, promotes a strong security culture, and upholds both national and international standards.

The Batch 1 of the ASP Writing Workshop, conducted in coordination with the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) last May 26 to 30, 2025, resulted in 20 CAAP-operated airports submitting their amended ASPs for OTS assessment and approval in accordance with the NCASP 2024 Edition.
