The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines – Zamboanga International Airport (CAAP-ZIA) successfully conducted its Full-Scale Emergency Simulation Exercises today, starting at 9:00 AM.

The first phase of the program, held at the KCC Parking Lot, comprised the actual full-scale simulation exercise. This phase exhibited the airport community’s unified and timely response during a simulated off-airport emergency scenario.
The exercise rigorously tested essential components of crisis management, including command and control, communication flow, medical response, firefighting operations, security coordination, and passenger handling.

CAAP-ZIA personnel collaborated closely with the Local Government of Zamboanga City and various partner agencies from emergency responders, law enforcement units, medical teams, and aviation stakeholders to ensure a synchronized and effective response.
While the second part of the program, conducted at Cordova Hall, Palacio del Sur, focused on post-activity evaluation processes such as the opening briefing, data gathering, critic observation, open forum, and the closing briefing. These sessions allowed participants to consolidate insights, evaluate performance, and identify areas for improvement.

The successful execution of the entire exercise highlights the strong commitment of CAAP-ZIA and its partner agencies to continuously strengthen aviation safety, enhance emergency preparedness, and ensure efficient inter-agency coordination.
