As part of the efforts towards digitalization in civil aviation processes, CAAP launched today, 21 July 2025, the Electronic Terrain and Obstacle Data (eTOD) Project, which commences the Aeronautical Information Service’s (AIS) digitalization initiative in aeronautical data management.

The event, organized by the proponents (Geospectrum-RAJ consortium), in collaboration with the CAAP AIS, was held at the Philippine Air Traffic Management Center (ATMC) lobby and was attended by Director General LTGEN Raul Del Rosario AFP (Ret). In his message, the Director General emphasized his belief that innovation must go hand in hand with the aviation sector’s sense of responsibility. Adding that, “the foundation of safe and efficient air operations lies in accurate, timely, and reliable data,” the Director General said.

With the launch of the eTOD, CAAP upholds the importance of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)-compliant aeronautical data in improving safety and operational efficiency, as well as raising awareness within the aviation community about this breakthrough digitalization initiative for Philippine aviation.

The event marks another historic step for continued transformation in aeronautical information management and is in line with the Marcos administration’s vision of a Philippines that is connected, empowered, and prepared for the digital age.
