The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), is holding a series of consultative meetings with different stakeholders in the civil aviation industry to finalize the proposed Civil Aviation Regulations on Facilitation. This initiative aligns with the provisions of ICAO Annex 9, which outlines international standards for the efficient movement of passengers, cargo, and aircraft while ensuring compliance with border control and public health requirements.

The meetings, which began in June, are part of a broader series of inter-agency consultations involving airport and aircraft operators, border control agencies, security agencies, concerned government agencies involved in the aviation sector, and airport authorities.

With the consultation meetings, the Philippines ensures that it is aligned with the goal of ICAO Annex 9 Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), which aims to facilitate and expedite air travel and prevent unnecessary delays.

In line with the DOTr and Marcos government’s vision of peace and order through good governance and regulations that improve systems in the transport sector, the consultation meeting will ultimately benefit both stakeholders and the riding public.
