Pasay City — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) expressed its full support for the Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC) as it convened its first-ever Instructors’ Fellowship on Tuesday, Feb. 24, bringing together aviation educators and instructors to strengthen training.

CAAP highlighted ongoing and planned investments in CATC, including building expansion, upgraded training facilities and equipment, the acquisition of simulators, and the rollout of a new automated Aeronautical Information Services system as part of its transition toward smart classroom learning.
The Authority also underscored the critical role of instructors in developing the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP), noting their responsibility in shaping competent, safety-driven aviation professionals in line with the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez.

“We recognize the critical role you play in ensuring the safety and security of our skies. Training is the foundation of safety, and safety is non-negotiable. While we modernize our systems and facilities, our most important investment will always be our people,” said CAAP Director General Retired Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario.

Last year, CATC achieved two international milestones under the ICAO TRAINAIR Plus Programme, earning Silver membership on January 1 and Gold membership on December 11, underscoring its rapid advancement and compliance with global aviation training standards.
