The CAAP, in compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) of which the Philippines is a member, is conducting an Emergency Air Crash Exercise in line with its Airport Emergency Preparedness at the General Santos Puerto Princesa and Davao Airports.
The CAAP is undertaking these activities in coordination with the Office of Civil Defense, Department of Health (STOP-D.E.A.T.H.) and the Philippine National Red Cross.

The establishment of an Airport Emergency Preparedness Program (AEPP) will ensure that airport and its surrounding communities are able to cope with an emergency occurring at the airport or its vicinity and identify the responsibilities and required action of all agencies and personnel involved. The AEPP which contains emergency planning procedures is vital as it minimizes the effect of an emergency. The purposes of such plans are to save lives and maintain aircraft operations. |
